Japanese paratrooper's jump from helicopter goes wrong
A line that is supposed to open a soldier’s parachute gets snagged during an Self-Defense Forces training exercise this week in Hokkaido.
The situation was resolved when the helicopter slowly descended and allowed the soldier, who was a member of the GSDF’s elite 1st Airborne Brigade, to cut the line and fall safely to the ground. He suffered a bloody nose, but was otherwise okay.

Hagfish - sliming self defense
The Pacific Ocean Hagfish has a disgusting way of defending itself. When under attack, it oozes a suffocating slime from its many pores that envelops its predator in a fatal mass of fibrous goo.
The hagfish, unfortunately, sometimes falls prey to its own defense mechanism, but normally it twists itself into knots to escape the gelatinous goop.

Stop motion: moving
2.800 pictures taken within 3 weeks resulted in this 3'30" video that shows a trivial (but interesting) thing: a guy moving to a new apartment. It's kind of mesmerizing...
And the music is great: The Way You Look Tonight (Brian Ferry's version).

Blue Angels' Fat Albert

Fat Albert is the C-130 Hercules assigned to the fantastic Blue Angels.
Like any other C-130 this one has 4 turboprops, but Fat Albert has the capability to receive 8 rockets to help it take-off fast and using little runway (JATO - Jet Assisted Take-Off).
See JATO being used in the videos below (three more after the jump).

Kid's rodeo?
I can't say that I do understand about rodeos, so I don't know whether it's normal to see kids mounting a runaway sheep...
Maybe this is a kind of beginner's level (really don't know). If anyone knows anything about it, please share your "rodeolistic" knowledge here.

How to spend 1.4 billion dollars

It's easy: destroying an aircraft like this, a B2 Spirit bomber.
These images were taken when one crashed at Andersen AFB (Guam) in February 2008. Investigators demonstrated that moisture in the flight computers caused the aircraft to adopt a nose-up attitude - which reduced the airspeed and stalled the bomber.
Both pilots were able to eject in safety. The following video shows the accident (starting at 1:55).

Frankenscooters

The world is full of nutcases, huh?
In the first video somebody had the idea to make a very, very, very long scooter - using stairs to do so. In the second one, a demonstration of what you can do if by any chance you have a 750cc engine to spare...
