Surfrider Foundation: fantastic guerrilla ad

It's great to discover that there are creative and impacting ways to draw the attention of the public for a particular subject - and this is the case of a campaign created by Satchi & Satchi LA for Surfrider Foundation : the "Catch of the Day" campaign.

The idea was to collect trash found on beaches and put in packages - the packages are then taken to markets and mixed with the fish packs.

The coolest part is that the consumer is actually "inserted" in the problem of ocean pollution: in the middle of the fish packs that consumers are looking for they find a pack of garbage - that comes from the same ocean that provides the fish they wanted. The pollution of beaches and sea is not other people's problem - it's everyone's problem.

Effective or not, at least they raised the awareness about the problem...

Great idea...

Who cares about Fleggaard?

Fleggaard is a Danish company. What do they do? I have no idea, and honestly I don't care.
But I do know this: they know how to advertise...
Note: if you boss believes that a nonsense video with loads of fantastic topless models are inappropriate to your work environment, I advise you to watch this at home.
The video is after the jump.

The end of fairy tales

A Canadian campaign to encourage the donation of books was developed under the idea that the imaginary worlds of children are bound to disappear without reading. To convey this idea to the general public, the different advertisements show fairy tale characters, such as Cinderella and Peter Pan, slowly fading away in hospital.
Images: Peter Pan ("in his usual garb, an elderly Peter Pan sits in his wheelchair in front of an open hospital window. The wind blows the curtains into the room. Life and time have left their mark on him. Looking up at a shooting star in the sky, he appears sad not to be able to fly away.)" and Cinderella ("Cinderella wanders the corridors of a hospital with her IV drip. She’s wearing her ball dress, and has only one shoe on. Visibly worn down by illness, she is pale and weak. She has to lean on her IV stand to move forward.")
Click to enlarge, to fully appreciate the details.

After the jump, a video made for this campaign (see what happens to Little Red Riding Hood...)
